Ingredients
1 1 favorite homemade pie crusts or one ready-made pie crust
5 1/2 cups 5 1/2 peeled, cored, and sliced cooking apples
1 tablespoon 1 lemon juicer
1/2 cup 1/2 granulated sugar
1/4 cup 1/4 brown sugar, packed
3 tablespoons 3 flour
1/2 teaspoon 1/2 ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon 1/4 nutmeg
- TOPPING
3/4 cup 3/4 flour
1/4 cup 1/4 granulated sugar
1/4 cup 1/4 brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup 1/4 butter or 1⁄3 cup margarine, room temperature
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Fit pie crust into pie plate.
- In a large bowl, mix sliced apples, lemon juice, both sugars, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pile into crust.
- Prepare topping
- In a medium bowl, with a pastry blender or a fork, mix flour, both sugars, and butter until coarsely crumbled.
- Sprinkle evenly over apples.
- Bake at 375°F for 50 minutes.
