Ingredients

  • 1 lb 1 ground italian sausage

  • 1 lb 1 penne pasta

  • 1 tbsp 1 olive oil

  • 1/2 1/2 yellow onion, diced

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 red pepper flakes

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 salt

  • 2 cup 2 heavy cream

  • 5 oz 5 baby spinach

  • 1 cup 1 shredded parmesan cheese

Directions

  • Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions.rnWhile the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.rnCook the Italian sausage along with the onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt until the sausage is no longer pink.rnDrain excess fat from the skillet if necessary and return the meat mixture to the pan.rnTurn the heat to low and add the cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and add in the spinach.rnCook, stirring for about 3 minutes until the spinach is wilted.rnStir in the parmesan cheese until melted. Stir the pasta into the sauce.rnServe immediately.
