Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 butter

  • 1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 chopped celery (with leaves)

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 finely chopped onion

  • 9 cups 9 soft bread cubes

  • 1 teaspoon 1 salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 ground sage

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons 1 1/2 chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 pepper

Directions

  • Heat butter in dutch oven or large cast iron frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook celery and onion in butter about 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • *I personally do not use the ground sage, do not like the taste.
