Ingredients

  • 3 3 very ripe large bananas

  • 2 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 butter

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons 1 1/2 buttermilk or sour cream

  • 1 teaspoon 1 lemon juicer

  • 1 cup 1 sugar

  • 2 cups 2 all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon 1 1/2 baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 baking soda

  • 1 cup 1 chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions

  • Place bananas, eggs, butter, buttermilk or sour cream, lemon juice, and sugar into a blender bowl or food processor with the steel blade. Whirl until smooth.
  • Mix together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Pour the banana mixture over the flour mixture and stir just until the flour is moistened. Stir in the nuts.
  • Turn into greased 9 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch bread loaf pan or into two 3 1/2 by 7 1/2 inch nut bread pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 65 minutes or until bread tests are done when a skewer is inserted in the center.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto wire racks.
